I was in Aspen, CO for a work conference and had the opportunity to go to Maroon Bells, which is only a 20 minute drive from Aspen. I am not one for crowds AT ALL and since there were a whole slew of people right at Maroon Lake, I decided to head up to Crater Lake. I was super ticked at myself because I forgot my point-and-shoot camera at home. So, I apologize these photos aren't as crisp and clear as I would normally post. BUT, since Maroon Bells is one of the top most photographed spots in the Nation, I figured this is better than not sharing at all! If you are in the area, I would highly recommend going. But if you don't arrive at the park ($10 entrance fee per vehicle) before about 6:00am, you won't be able to find a parking spot. Then you have to wait until the buses start moving, which is normally not until 8:00am. Since this spot is super close to Aspen, there is a lot of foot traffic on the trails, so plan accordingly so you aren't disappointed when you see everyone, and their mom, as you head down from your trek up the mountain. My favorite part of the hike was when I came back down from Crater Lake and took a side trail, once I got back to the trail head, and it took me to this quiet area with just amazing views and barely anyone there! I took some video, which I had to share!
