Ruffwear Dog Booties

Our labrador retriever is so active and we have to protect her paws when we are out adventuring! We have found the Ruffwear booties are the way to go for rough terrain and the Denier Cordura booties work great for snowy conditions. Check out the gear review below for more information!

I LOVE this Deuter pack and have used it for a number of years! The new model is a bit prettier than mine, but the functionality is very similar! Check out the gear review below to learn more!

Jetboil Stove

My favorite stove system to use when backpacking is the Jetboil because it boils water in about a minute when I want to make a dehydrated meal. So then there is no cleanup, which I love! Watch the gear review below!

Dog Booties

I finally broke down and bought my dog booties. I know, I know, it sounds ridiculous until you actually have your dog use them and they are pretty darn great! With all the hiking I do with my dog, Pippie, her paws get pretty beat up and cracked and I have tried a variety of different things, which have helped, but not made a ton of difference. But with the weather changing to be colder and snow not that for into the distance, it was time to take that next step. I did some research and saw that the RuffWear Summit Trek boots seemed to be the best overall option based on the type of actives I do and plan to do with Pippie.

I bought my Rainbow Tarptent at least 4 years ago and I absolutely love this tent! 10 out of 10! It really was everything I wanted it to be! I got into ultralight backpacking about 4 years ago and did a lot of research and well as talking with fellow backpackers to see what features they liked about their gear as well as reading reviews online!

Salomon Women’s Ellipse GTX

I bought these hiking boots a couple years ago in order to have a pair of approach shoes when I go rock climbing. I wanted a shoe that was lighter weight and a low profile on the ankle so I didn’t feel so encumbered like with my ankle height boots. I wanted a shoe that was comfy like a sneaker but offered more protection for my toes since I am a bit clumsy.

I came across this shoe in the REI discount bin and since I love a good deal and I already had wanted these shoes, I bought them in a heartbeat! I would give them an 8 out of 10. They are great for hike a below 5 miles. My feet start hurting over 5 miles because the width isn’t quite right but they are great for an approach shoe! They have worn super well and I use them regularly! I would recommend this shoe!
Here is the link to the shoe!
