What better way to start the morning off than enjoying a hike with a friend! Buzzard's Roost is one of my favorite hiking places near Rapid City because it is located so close to town and offers beautiful vistas once you reach the top!
There is something about the majestic beauty of a sunny winter day, gliding through the deep snow on a pair of cross country skis. Besides the wind, it was just a perfect afternoon to enjoy some exercise and time with friends.
The Mile High Mountain Music Festival has been going on since Thursday, January 25th. It is a three-day music festival in Lead, SD. There is live music from local Black Hills artists, games, flannel & flame party and much more!
After a fantastic afternoon of cross country skiing at the Sunny Meadows trail, we headed over to the Stampmill Saloon to grab a drink with some friends before the Winterfest Parade and fireworks display!
It's that time of the year again for the Black Hills Stock Show & Rodeo! This year marks the 60th annual event. Next to the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, the Black Hills Stock Show & Rodeo is the second largest event in South Dakota each year! From January 26 - February 4, 2018, cowboys and ranchers come to compete in 10 different cattle shows, ranch rodeos and 14 different horse events. This is a family friendly event at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center and such a fun time!
When you are planning your visit to the Black Hills, make sure to stop into Prairie Edge Trading Co. & Galleries located in downtown Rapid City. It is, hands down, the best place to shop in the Black Hills! They offer high quality, unique products that are great for gift giving or for yourself!
Brunch is my favorite weekend meal! Our go to place, especially when we have guests in from out of town, is Tally's Silver Spoon located in downtown Rapid City. There normally is a wait so definitely call ahead! Reading about the history of Tally's is super interesting so check that out here.
My fiancé and I are foodies, for sure, so we really enjoy trying out new restaurants! In the Black Hills there are some pretty good places and Jambonz Deux in Rapid City has become one of my favorites! The original location is in Sturgis, but I haven’t been to that location yet, though my fiancé says it is really good there too!
For the love of travel and new adventures, we live our lives for the next dream fulfilled!
